ABOUT US
- YOUR STUTTER MAY BE UNIQUE, BUT YOUR EXPERIENCES ARE SHARED -
Welcome to San Diego Stuttering Community group!
While stuttering can affect each person differently, realizing how many of us are out there and finding a community of people who can relate to our experiences and offer a supportive network can be life-changing. That's why our local space is so important. The meetings/events are open to people who stutter, their loved ones or anyone who wants to learn more about it (SLPs). Here you can stutter freely, connect and make friends/network with others who stutter, share your experiences, and talk about life as a person who stutters. In some meetings we just catch up and talk about stuff unrelated to stuttering. Everyone is welcome, regardless of how you feel about your stutter and what your goals are.
Please note that we do not provide any form of speech therapy, but we hope you can find a sense of community, support and acceptance in our group.

Our adult group (18+) meets every 4th Tuesday of the month from 6-7.30pm in Mission Valley Library. We also have social events once a month. If it's your first time attending, please shoot us a message/email before.

Family Group (for kids and families) is currently on pause. Please reach out if you have an interest in running one and/or want to organize an event.

COMMUNITY LEADERS

KAJA BAJC ARNOLD
Kaja is originally from Slovenia and came to San Diego in 2016. She has been stuttering since the age of 5. Stuttering used to be her biggest fear and something she was ashamed of. Meeting others who stutter and getting involved in the community, changed her view on stuttering and taught her how to accept and live as a person who stutters. She is passionate about stuttering advocacy, education and fostering a world where stuttering is viewed as normal and accepted. In her free time, she loves to surf and travel.
